Avoiding Twist on ML
I've knit in the round numerous times, but recently the twist upon join is kicking my behind! I don't know why I have no trouble if it's normal circulars or DPNs, but more times than not, I've had a twist lately. Anyone have a tip? I'm ready to give up and just begin everything on DPNs and transfer it over! (It's always on the opposite side of where I'm knitting from-the halfway point. I don't know if that matters.) I'm working on hats so they're bigger than socks and the stitches have more room to roam around on the cable too. I don't seem to have much trouble with socks either, but I do mostly toe-up with ML too....

Try running your fingers along the sts before you join to make sure the needle doesn't twist them. Also, the join can be straight, but the sts can twist on the first round, so check at the end of the first round and take the twist out if it's there. Move the sts to the cord so you can see how they lay, then pull the cord out halfway around and start round 2.
