knitted swirl shawl

hi all
i love this shawl but it is knitted
by the time i learn to knit it it will be next year
it is made with 5 triangle panels
i am crocheting the triangle increasing i stitch each end every other row
it seems to be working
and i will join the panels by crocheting them together
the join makes a nice raised stitch
single crochet
when finished i will crochet around the whole shawl in single crochet
about 22 inches long because i am short
and maybe a little collar
am i dreaming or is this possible
by the way the points are for the neck

Did I miss the link? No picture. As a knitter I am into making a shawl right now and some knitted patterns are real easy to adapt to crochet and others are not. I crochet as well and would like to see how you are doing!

I agree with mathwizard, can you provide a link or information on where to find the original pattern?

The details are few and the idea is broad but so far it certainly sounds like you've seen a crochet solution to a knitting pattern.

I have found some knitting patterns that look to me to have a more natural solution in crochet, and others that were crochet patterns that seemed more naturally fitted to knitting.

You never know when a pattern is really an adaptation from a different craft.

hi
i am not good at linking
the pattern is in a book i have vogue knitting shawl
basically it is 5 triangles
joined with points for the neck line
the 2 triangles i have crocheted seem to be working out
i have to keep my eye on it not to make it to wide
it looks alright
i will never have the patience to knit this
even if i learn to cable
it is faster crocheting
i will join 3 panels just to see if it is working out
and get back
