I need help with a baby bootie pattern!! =/

hello all!
thank u for taking the time to read this post! is there someone out there that can help?? i really, really need help with this part of the pattern for a baby bootie i really want to crochet! your help is greatly appreciated!

Here is part of the pattern:
SIDES AND SOLE
rnd 1: ch 27, loosely, skip next 7 dc, being careful not to twist ch, slip st in next dc, place marker around dc just worked into for st placement; ch 3, dc in next 23 dc and in marked dc, do not remove marker, dc in each ch around; join with slip st to first dc: 52 dc.

I have tried this once before and failed. I do not understand if you crochet in the same space as the ch 27 and also when u work around, i did not get 52 dc. Also, I do not understand where it says slip st in next dc, place marker around dc just worked into for st placement.

First off after chaining 27 it says nothing about doing dc. Can you provide a link to the pattern?
