Granny Stripe blanket?
Hi everyone,

Have any of you made a Granny Stripe blanket? I found it on a blog called Attic24 and I am in love with it!! I am super excited about starting it as soon as possible. I’m pretty new to crochet and would like some advice in regards to the yarn I want to use. Please help me if you can!

I have two bags of yarn from Mountain Colors company & they are hand painted in some really beautiful colors. One bag is their “Bearfoot” brand. It is wool/mohair/nylon and is approx 100 gram skeins. It says on the label that the gauge is 5-6 sts/in & suggested needle size 3-4. I have 29 skeins of this type.

The other bag is their “4/8’s Wool” brand. It is 100% wool and is approx 100 gram skeins. It says on the label that the gauge is 4 sts/in & the suggested needle size is 6-7. I have 29 skeins of this type too.

I really want to use both types in my blanket because the colors coordinate so well. Will that be alright? What size hook should I use? And how many chains should I start with? I want it to be pretty big - good for a couple people to cuddle under and watch tv. Also, do I have enough yarn? I sure wouldn’t want to run out. I would really appreciate any advice you can share with me! Thanks!

Bye,
Lisa in Ohio
