Rainbow Baby Earflap Hat
This was made using Knit Picks Felici self striping sock yarn. I used this pattern, but after reading some of the comments made by others on Ravelry I did the decreases slightly differently to create a nicer (in my opinion) shape to the crown. I also added a pom pom to the top.

I don't have anyone to model it for me at the moment, so I guess I'll see how well my modifications turned out when my friend's son tries it on I'm a little worried that it might be a little "girly" though ... do you think the colors are ok for a baby boy? I wasn't expecting the lavender stripe ...

This is beautiful!! Definitely adding that to my list of things to make for my little boy.

I wouldn't have any issue putting a rainbow hat on my boy, might depend on the person but I think rainbow is great for babies and kids and on the neutral side.

Absolutely Darling!

I like how you did the crown, and your pom pom is superb.
Spectacular on either a boy or a girl

Beautiful! I love how it turned out! Don't think it's too "girly" at all!

The perfect combination: rainbow colors and a darlin' earflap hat with a perfect pompom atop!

Great work!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I'm glad to hear from everyone that it doesn't look to "girly" for a little boy ... now I won't feel so bad gifting it!

We could learn a lot from crayons:some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names,
and all are different colors....
but they all exist very nicely in the same box.
