It's funny you should mention sewing. My husband loves to sew. He's been working on this cloak for me for a few years (lack of time), and he has the materials for a quilt he's been wanting to make for forever. Issue is, he likes to hand sew. We have a machine, and he's very happy with it, but the things he's been wanting to sew he really wants to do with his two hands alone.

Me? I don't like sewing.

There is hope - even though my husband claims that he will not start to knit. I think the last word is not spoken there.

You need to tell him how good custom hand knit socks feel. They would also be great project to take with him hiking and camping. Knitting next to a beautiful woman and warm fire would be great relaxation.

I wish mine would, especially since he's had hand surgery, I think it would be good physical therapy.

His coworkers won't say jack to him about it because he's like 300 lbs of muscle. So I figure there's a chance mine may change his mind.

WOW!!!! (hope nobody so far has gotten hurt!) I really hope that your husband changes his mind because to me, knitting is relaxing. Try bribing him with tickets to a baseball or football game. He might like that! ( I am sort of serious!)

Unfortunately for us, we have a two year old, so any call of the wild that my happen on a camping trip will be him screeching his little head off in glee. Or our screams as we try to keep little hands out of the fire.
