I think it is really bad when bad projects steal good needles. That is just wrong. Put those puppies away - onto true waste yarn.
I have started to give yarn away to a girl at the office who wants to learn knitting but tries not to spend money on the thing since she does not make a lot of money here. She does machine washable baby things and loves the acrylic (guess some good yarn might spoil her forever). She gets left overs and acrylics from me these days and has moved on to cell phone socks so... all is good. She is happy, my stash is streamlined to the good stuff and everyone is happy. The offer to buy / give her some merino wool she turned down... too splitty for her (really wasn't). So: on that note:

I think it is really bad when bad projects steal good knitters. That is just wrong.

My wort thing I tried to make was a sweater for my oldest son. Even a small man size is too big for him . He has the body frame of a young teenager and weighs less than 100 pounds( has never been over 98 lbs his whole life). I used a microspun yarn and even went down to a XSmall size it was too big . I never finished it. I threw it away but kept the yarns I had not used. I will use them in something else.
