My wedding veil

Hello all! I'm trying to knit my own lace wedding veil. I am fairly new at knitting but I'm not having trouble following the pattern I am using, which is a small circular table cloth pattern. My only problem is that the lace is too dense. I am using size 1 needles and tatting thread because I thought this would make the lace very fine and make it so that my face is not obscured by the design. Should I use bigger needles? Should I keep going and hope to block this lace into shape? Or should I try a different pattern? (the one I am using now http://www.yarnover.net/patterns/doi.../storrund.html)
