Garter Stitch question (very basic!)
Hey, I'm a beginner knitter. I'm trying to make a scarf, just knitting every row. While the beginning of the scarf has the stitches sitting nicely on top of each other from row to row, as I go on, the negative space between the stitches (the little loops) are getting wider. I thought maybe I needed to be tighter with the tension. No, didn't work. I thought maybe looser. No, didn't work. I'm starting the think the weight of the yarn is weighing on itself and pulling the rows apart the further I go and the more weight is hanging off of the needles.

HELP! I just want pretty rows that sit on top of each other.
