Preventing holes at cable cross - How??
I'm working on the Manitou Passage Scarf, pattern on Ravelry, and it has large (16 stitch) cables. Where the cable cross occurs, there's a hole large enough for the tip of your pinkie finger. I've tried tightening up my stitches as I cross the cable but theres still a hole. It's not really visible but I'm making this for a young person and I can guarantee a finger will find this hole if it is there. Is there a way to prevent this?

That's normal. If you look at store bought hand knit things with cables they often have those holes. You can minimize them by wrapping the first purl after the cable under instead of over. It twists the stitch which tightens it. When you knit across the back and come across the twisted stitch knit it through the back loop to untwist it. You may still have some gap..not sure, but it should help.

Pulling the sts tight will make it worse, so just keep it loose. That's normal for any cable and as you knit more rows and it gets washed, the gaps will be less noticeable.
