Need help, please!!!
I'm using the "Voodoo Fingerless Glove" pattern to make some armwarmers for my mom who complains her arms are always cold in the winter.

The pattern is for wristwarmers, but I figured I could just make them longer, and she could wear them over her long sleeved shirts. I've found out that there isn't going to be enough "give" in them for that, even though it's in a rib pattern.

My question is, would I be able to start out with larger needles to make the longer arm section, and then when it gets to the 7 or 8 inch point in the pattern, go down to smaller needles so that the part that fits around the palm would be the right size? If not, what would be the best way to enlarge the top portion?

Thanks in advance!!!
