KNITTING BORDER FOR BABY BLANKET

I am finished knitting a baby blanket and need some help getting the border started. I am curious as to how i would go about doing this...Should I pick up all stitches on all four corners and then just knit around the blanket ? But then what size circular needle do you need and how many ? Or do I pick up the stitches on one side of the blanket and knit one side at a time ? Any help you can assist me with is greatly appreciated. This is my first blanket and I am really excited about it. Bless You Thank You for your help Sheba

There are lots of ways it can be accomplished and it depends on how you want it to look... Here's a thread that explains how to do it one side at a time and create mitered corners.
