dec at neck and armhole

when I dec at the neck edge do I slant the decreases away from the neck edge. Also, for the armhole do I slant the dec towards the body? Which way makes the decreases more invisable?

Either way is okay, it depends on how you want them to look. Many commercial sweaters, and hand knit 'full fashion' patterns have the decs slanting toward the edges rather than toward the middle of the piece. At the neck edge I like them slanted toward the edge for a little firmer edge.
