lace chart
I am knitting a shawl using a lace chart which is knit over a repeat of 20 stitches and 40 rows. On row 25 the chart starts referring to "no stitch" blocks. I don't understand this....if I have 20 stitches how can there be a no stitch block when there have not been any decreases?

Trust the chart in this case. There may have been no decreases before this row, but there are probably decreases on this one.

If not, do you have a link to the chart?

I'm not used to knitting from a chart so looking ahead 1 row with the "no stitch" block had me stumped. But after your response I see that there is indeed decreases that make up for the "no stictch" blocks.
Thank you.

The no stitch boxes are just there to make the chart square, they don't represent a stitch so you just skip over them.
