Blocking Misfitting Cardigan

What is the best way to block an already sewn together cardigan that is too small across the front? The back piece and the sleeves fit perfectly, but the two front pieces are too narrow for my MIL's body. The pattern is a purchased pattern from a reputable source. Since this sweater was her Christmas gift, I need to get the sweater blocked as quickly as possible. The yarn is 50/50 washable wool and acrylic. Thank you!

Get it wet and lay it out on a towel or blocking boards and shape it pinning it if necessary. Due the acrylic content the blocking may not be permanent, but it might be fine. You can also steam block, but be very careful.
