Quest about Knitting from a Chart (1st time)
I am knitting a shawl from a chart that refers to the RS and WS of the pattern. Here's the question:

Are the odd rows typically on the "Wrong Side" of the pattern? (I assume they are because most of the design is on the even rows)

Any advice you can offer will help.
Thanks!
Elaine

Usually odd rows are RS and even the WS, but not always, some may also have a 'set up' row for the pattern which will be the RS, then row 1 would be the WS. What's the pattern? If you have a link to it or a picture that can help.

Thanks for the info. This is my first post so it didn't let me post a link, but let me try again. Post this into your brower:

After knitting 3 setup rows, it begins with Row 1 which is mostly plain stitches.

Got it, thanks.

Yes, it does look as though the odd rows are WS, even are RS. Following the numbers helps - RS rows begin at the right edge of the chart and all the even numbers are there. WS rows begin at the left edge and that's where the odd numbers are.

Thank you very much. Sometimes I just need a little hand-holding.
