We do have videos here under advanced techniques. There are a lot of books, but I've learned everything online with free videos/tutorials.

Many knitting books either begin or end with a tutorial on colorwork and the library is a great place to find one that you like. Sally Melville's "The knitting experience. Book 3, Color : the power and the glory" is devoted to techniques, patterns, and basic color theory and it's fun to look at.

I also have this book on my Amazon list. It looks good and has good reviews, but I haven't seen it yet.

Fair Isle...
http://www.philosopherswool.com/Page...andedvideo.htm

Hi!

This is a super little video for the Fair Isle technique from Philosopher's Wool. They also have lots of other reference material but this actually gives a great overview. And a real plus is that this is a method that weaves in all the "floats" (or elongated stitches) on the back that comes from shifting colors. The back is as neat and beautiful as the front in most cases.

This is the one that really got me started and then one of the gals on the forum, Hyperactive, did a couple of great videos as well. I'm sure she'd share them with you if you'd like. She is a SUPER fair isle knitter!

Good luck and let us know how you're going!

Ruthie
