Weighing Manos del Uruguay
Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you have some hanks of Manos del Uruguay Wool Classica Space Dyed lying around? I ordered 5 and they were way under 100 grams; the smallest was 85g and the rest were between 90 and 95.

Apparently they have a 10% over/underage but it always seems to be an underage!

Anyway, I was able to complete my project, but in the end I got more than half a hank less than what I paid for, and I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed or can weigh their hanks... I'm wondering if it was just bad luck for me.

I guess I'm sort of looking for an excuse to buy Manos again... I love the stuff! But I don't like the idea of paying for 100grams and consistently getting around 90g.

The weight of yarn can vary according to the humidity. If it was a damp climate where it was produced, and you live in a dry one, the weight will be different. However, the yardage may still be correct. If there's a way you can measure out the skein, you may find it's not as off as you think.
