My daughter asked for a new hat and we picked the Polar Chullo pattern. DD wanted green in the mix so I picked these colors (site unseen, over the internet) of Knit Picks Palette. That yarn is so economical. It seems like nice wool and is so fine it lasts forever. I got 5 little balls (1 in each of 5 colors) and have made three hats out of it (one other color added for one) and still have yarn left over.
This first one is the one I made 2nd. It is for my daughter's little boy. I designed it (not the moose chart, that is from a Patons sweater called Nordic Cardigan) myself based on what I learned from making the Polar Chullo. Both hats are lined, but not the earflaps on this one.
Here is the Polar Chullo. It is long on top and falls over (if you know what I mean).
