This is such an adorable little shrug! I made it for a friend and gifted it last Saturday. I had forgotten to take a picture so she kindly did so for me. The pattern was very easy, but did have a lot of stitches across those gathers. I opted to make the shrug instead of the longer sweater since it was for a baby. The yarn is Euro Baby Babe which is a DK weight and the buttons have little bears in pink on them so they are subtle and don't detract from the pattern detail. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/olearia

Aww thanks everyone! I was thinking when I started it it would cute for an adult sweater if you just did the yoke, but after I purled back across a few of those gathers I said ..mmm maybe not. Purling hurts my hands if I have to do too much.
OK, I purchased the pattern, and I'm ready to start. I'm so excited. I purchased enough yarn to make some sort of matching little hat. I'm just debating the cap sleeves or long sleeves. I'll probably do the cap sleeve. Fun Fun.

It wasn't hard at all! I think sleeve length depends on how old the child is and what the sweater is actually for.
