Hello
Hi, I have been browsing this thread for a few month. I have been away awhile and just dropped in to see what was going on. As I read the posts, I felt like I had missed some old friends. Everyone seems so friendly and supportive of one another. I hope everyone has a great week.

Hello socksters!
Went in search of a LYS yesterday to get baby yarn. I promised Amanda something for her baby; I also am knitting a "sun hat" for my cousin's son. Possibly making baby socks with the leftover yarn.
Picked up some New Zealand possum/merino blend yarn, too. Don't think it would be good for socking, though... but it sure is pretty!
I moved into a bigger apartment. It has more plumbing problems then it has plumbing (I've been here since the first of the month, basically, minus two weeks when I was back in Iowa... and today was my sixth visit from the maintenance guys), but the maintenance guys are really nice and are fixing the issues as I find them. Not that I don't enjoy the social interaction, but I'd really prefer not to have strange men showing up in my apartment all the time! One more visit, hopefully, to replace a defective garbage disposal, and then *crosses fingers* I can go back to just nodding amicably at the maintenance men when I see them across the complex.
Hope all is well with all of you!

Gorgeous sox Chris! Congrats on a great job.
I have a KOBO and I love it. Hubby and I bought each other one for Xmas last year. My step-son has a Kindle and he really likes his. He gets it to read to him. I prefer to read myself, LOL!
Gina, I am doing ok. The cancer scare was a bit much but it is all done now and they took out a foot and a half of my bowel, to remove the pre-cancerous pollops and the "carpet lesion". Now hubby is having a cancer scare. He had the PSA test done and it is really high. The next step is a prostate biopsy, which they are doing on August 30th. It's time for a rest from all this medical stuff. It is very nerve racking.
Julie, I LOVE that baby picture. Adorable.
Hugs to all,
Knitter

Christine, glad to hear from you! Your hubby will be in our prayers.
I had 31 botox injections in my head yesterday....Still pursuing relief from headaches. So far, so good!
Chris, those are AMAZING! That's a lot of knitting!
Hope the rest of you are doing well!

Hi everyone,
Chris, lovely work!
Christine, thinking of you and your husband.
Gina, hope your headaches stop.
I've not been doing much lately. I bound off a jumper, started a sock - then had to frog quite a bit of it! I started a cardigan too. Lots of knitting time since the teaching course didn't work out. I'm still a bit down about that but I'm working through it, I've had a bit of time off considering what to do next. I guess the next step is to try to find a job that will help me build some confidence.
Hope everyone is doing ok.

Chris - AWESOME! WOO!
Christine - Good to hear from you! Hope all is well with your dh!
Knit some baby socks (sorry no pics) for my cousin's son, but haven't gotten much knitting done. I have, however, opened an etsy shop ( www.farthestfeather.etsy.com) and yesterday morning got a lesson on spinning on a drop spindle. The awesome thing is that the spindle I bought to replace my crappy homemade one, supports the rescue where I got Copper, which is run by my high school history teacher (he made the spindle, too), and his wife taught me to spin and prepared the wool that I bought. She's the mastermind behind High Prairie Fibers (which, now that I've made all of the appropriate connections, I will be supporting with my business whenever possible)
Anyways, good to see a few messages on here! It's been a while!
