FO: Japanese Feather Shawl

See, I knew it couldn't be the great big rubber/foamy things that I have for the kids to play on :D

I've heard other knitters say they are basically the same thing except for color and maybe the kiddy squares are texturized. They said they use them for blocking, no trouble. Other knitters have said these foam, interlocking squares are also available at places like Home Depot. Not sure about the color.

I like the neutral color of the Knitpicks brand. I'm not at all afraid of color transfer. I wish they had grid markings of some sort, but that would drive the price up no doubt. I have a gridded blocking board, too, but it was IMO very expensive, not big enough most times, and not as versatile as Knitpicks blocking tiles.

Oh, I TRY MY BEST to focus on one thing at a time! But every knitter gets sidetracked with other eye-candy!

So I'd say that about sums it up!

Right now, at this very minute....I'm working on two sweaters: one is a jacket, all 5 pieces knit up and on the blocking table, drying. When they are bone dry I'll seam all, add the collar, add the applied i-cord buttonbands. Attach buttons, wear with pride!

The other is a pullover I started in early June. I left off at 7" on the Front....got sidetracked....so now with cool weather setting in, I am going to finish it up! No new projects until the jacket and pullover are D.O.N.E.

Lovely lace, Dollyce. I don't remember you making shawls before and now 2 in a row. Is this going to be the new thing for a while? I love this type of knitting, but have never done it. Well, a little lace, but nothing like this. Your color/yarn choice is great too.

(You try finding clear floor space in a house with every family member for four generations under one roof!) But what you're using looks like it could be perfect for me. (Maybe I could put it up on one of my bedroom walls?)

What a unique idea. I've not heard of this done before. It sounds like you have every reason to be the first to try it with such a big family, resulting in not enough space for a more traditional approach. Let us know how you did and how it worked out if you try it.

I'm really a diehard sweater knitter, but I am finding ez-pz shawls and scarves to be a refreshing break! Especially for vacation knitting! I sorta like having individual scarves for each of my sweaters rather than necklaces!

Absolutely gorgeous! With all your fabulously knitted stuff, you must have a difficult time deciding what to wear on special outings--or even everyday outings!
