Sharing of patterns in books is a copyright violation. I suggest looking in libraries or a for used one if you don't want to buy a new book. Amazon has used Folk Shawls books starting at $8 and I checked my own libraries and there are 5 available.

Or you could find an alternative or make one up. It's a knitted rectangle with a neck hole and collar in the center.

Yep, you might be able to find it through a library. You could also check the amazon and barnes used books, as well as through ravelry for someone wanting to sell their copy.
