Sounds like all those math problems that your teachers warned you about doesn't it? What you do is find a multiple of 11 that will come close to the correct size (~2" less than your head size). Then find a multiple of 4 that is close, but a smaller number. Cast on the multiple for the rib and when you're ribbed for the desired length, increase to the multiple of 11 for the cable patten. So if the multiple of 11 is 66sts, cast on 64sts for the rib and increase 2sts on the last row of the rib. Space the increases out so that they're not bunched together whatever the number turns out to be.
