Ending a row

When ending a row and it's time to slip stitch, how can I make the row not look so uneven. I mean, you can tell where the last row ended and it looks uneven.

It's hard for me to see from your picture, it's rather dark and my eyes are getting older. If your stitch count is correct then it might just be the nature of crochet. Most patterns call for a border to be worked around the outside edges which makes them look more even. Some patterns end up looking pretty ragged on the edges before a border is added.

Take a look at this series of close-up photos for some help on learning where to insert the hook at the end of a row. The stitch used in the example is double crochet (dc), but the idea is the same for every stitch except probably slip stitch.
