Pattern Assistance Please

I am a beginner knitter and I am attempting my first Blanket. The pattern reads...

1st row: (RS). K5. *K8. (yfwd. Sl1. K1. psso) 3 times. K1. (K2tog. yfwd)
3 times. Rep from * to last 13 sts. K13.

Question: What is the starting place for knitting 3 times? Should I repeat starting with K5, *K8, or do I knit what is in the ( ) 3 times?

What about the second "3 times"? Which part do I repeat?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The starting place for the first "3 times" is the directions in parentheses (yfwd. Sl1. K1. psso). The second "3 times" is also the directions in parenthesis (K2tog. yfwd).

Repeat the sts inside the () 3 times in both cases; then when you get to the end of the whole sequence, repeat everything between the *s until the last 13 sts.
