gauge -
I am knitting a sweater which calls for 10.5 needles. Gauge: 12 stitches and 16 rows = 4" in st st

I am using the yarn recommended- Berroco Linsey which needs to be doubled for this pattern.

I typically knit to gauge...but not this time. I also have learned an important lesson as I typically never check my gauge --- big faux pas - I realize.

I have 16 stitches and 24 rows = 4". Is there a formula available to 'suggest' what size needle I need to get the correct gauge?

Many thanks in advance for your help -

Happy Easter/Passover!

Are you kntting in the pattern stitch recommended for the gauge? If so, I'd go up to an US11 or even 13 and see if that gets you to gauge. Good luck and thanks for the holiday wishes!

An 11 would probably work to get the gauge you need.
