FO Bathroom Rug... with slightly major error
Well, I was so excited about finishing this project, I didn't notice that I had sewn the last row of squares on in the wrong orientation >.<

Other than that, I'm happy with the way it came out, and I think it looks very nice it its intended location. It's all done with two strands of RHSS, except for one strand of Vanna's Choice in the trim:

Trying out granny squares has taught me one very important thing: I never want to deal with yarn ends ever again! From now on, everything I make will be monochrome. Or else I'll tell everyone that dangling threads are the latest fashion. I can see the headlines now: "The Latest Trend? Lots of Loose Ends!" If we all do it, we can make it happen, so who's with me here? ;D

Well I can't tell which ones are 'wrong' and I bet no one else can either. I prefer my colorwork to be variegated or selfstriping yarns rather than using different colors myself. Good job!

Sorry, my camera isn't good with color differentiation. Basically, the inner part of each square alternates between olive/cream and olive/grey. Except I attached one of the end strips the wrong way, so there are adjacent squares with the same color. This might show it better:

I'll probably get around to fixing it, but I'm embarrassed at my own carelessness. Plus I only have a couple yards of black left, so I'd need to get more just to fix this, which vexes me.

Eh, call it a design modification and don't be embarrassed about it, or even bother to fix it. It'll still keep the floor dry.

I'd call it a great success. Lovely subtle colors in a pleasing combination and a unique design. Well done!

Ahh. I see, and I can understand your frustration. It's a lovely design regardless.

Regardless of the error (which is frustrating, I know), this is a fabulous rug!! I hope you get lots of use out of it, and I'm positive you'll get plenty of compliments!!

This rug is spectacular! If I visited a home with this rug on the bathroom floor...I'd come out hooping it up! It is really really something to be proud of. It looks like stained glass on the floor! Kudos to you!
