Hi, I must say that the KnittingHelp site has kept me in "stitches"! The videos are terrific ... When I get stuck I search the site for a video that I can watch till I get it.
I am left-handed but knit right-handed ... Kind of weird but that is just how I learned.
My latest project calls for DPN ..... Once I figured out what they were I sought a video to learn how to knit with them.
From watching Amy demonstrate it looked like a totally different method of knitting .... Was that Continental knitting? Or am I totally confused with which way the working yarn goes over the needle??
Does anyone out there know why my yarn is twisting up on me while I am knitting. I have taken the tread from the outside of the yarn to make the ball. As I am knitting, the threads keep twisting tighter and tighter. Grrrrr.
Hello y'all. I am knitting a blanket, and my yarn is tightening as I knit. What is mean is that the yarn is twisting tighter as I keep knitting. Did I roll my ball of yarn up incorrectly? I started rolling from the outside of the skein in.
It may be how you wrap the yarn around the needle, or which direction you turn your work at the end of the row. If you always turn the same direction it'll twist, so alternate at the end of each row. You can let the work dangle from the skein to let it untwist every few rows - some yarns are just like that too.
I am knitting the Tennis Vest from "60 Quick Baby Knits" (cascade 220 Superwash) Book designed by Heidi Kozar. When I got to the change of color yarn part, after the ribbing section of the vest I find it is not making sense to me. Does anybody out there know this pattern or how I get in touch with the designer to get some instruction? Feelin' Frustrated!
