Hello everyone & help with pattern please?
Hi,
I'll start off with introducing myself. My name is Tracey & I have recently found out that I am going to be a grandmother for the first time
I have knitted in the past but nothing too complicated, anyway I am now in the middle of knitting a cardigan for my grandchild & I am having trouble understanding the pattern. I was hoping that someone with more experience could help me understand it.
I am doing the left front of the cardigan & the pattern has gone like this;
1st row. K1, s1, k1, psso, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog.
2nd row. Purl.
3rd row. Knit to last 2 sts, k2tog.
4th row. Purl
Rep 1st & 2nd rows once more.

I have got this far & am left with 15 sts (which is right according to pattern) and now I am confused with the next set of instructions!

Work 14 rows dec 1 st at raglan edge as before in 3rd and every foll 4th row AT SAME TIME dec 1 st at neck edge in 3rd and every foll 4th row.

By the end of this I should be left with 9 sts according to pattern. What is confusing me is do I continue to do the 1st & 2nd rows? Also, if I am decreasing 2 sts per row then I will already be down to 9 sts after doing 3 rows - I will not have enough sts to complete 14 rows.

I am sorry that my 1st post is so long & rambling & if I come across as a total idiot! I just really hope someone can make this clear for me, as I have already done the back & don't want to give up now.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
