Rowan, Baby Ryan Pattern

Can someone please explain to how I interpret the following on a pattern?

Dec one st at each end of next 3 rows then 1 foll alt row (74 sts).

I get the Dec 1 at each end of next 3 rows, I donít get the rest, apart from I need to finish with 74 stitches. Before starting this section I have 82 sts on the needles.

Please help!

Once you've decreased at the end of the 3 rows, work one row without any decreases and then work another decrease row.

The 'foll alt' row is the 2nd row after the previous 3 dec rows - following alternate or every other.
