ok thanks! and another question...
im supposed to have an even amount of stitches, but for some reason the on one of the stitch holders i have 12 and the back stitch holder i have 13. (these are the two sets that i am going to graft). shall i add an extra stitch to one of them to make both 13? and if so, which method do i use??
Thanks once again

I would decrease the number of sts on the holder that has one extra rather than increase one at this stage. If you do the 3 needle bind off you can k2tog at the same time as you are doing the bind off.

You could just weave in the tail of the yarn that's attached, then take a new strand for sewing it up, just leave a long enough tail to weave that in when you're done too.

Oh, I guess I misread that. Then just leave a tail so you can weave it in later and sew the hood on; you don't have to actually 'attach' yarn when you start using a new end, just leave it loose.
