Help needed on "skip"
Hi all,
I am a beginner in crochet and currently working on a baby sweater by Beth Koskie.
Here's the pattern:
Starting with neckline, chain 37.
Row 1: DC in 3rd ch from hook and in each of the next 4 chs, (DC, Ch1, DC) in next ch, DC in next 4 ch (for sleeve), (DC, Ch1, DC) in next ch, DC in next 12 chs, (DC, Ch1, DC) in next ch, DC in next 4 ch (for second sleeve), (DC, Ch1, DC) in next ch, DC in last 6 chs; Ch3, turn. (this Ch3 becomes the first st in the next row)
Row 2: *Skip ch3 space, DC to first Ch1 space, work (DC, Ch1, DC) in Ch1 space, repeat
from * three more times, DC to end, Ch3, turn.
What are ch3 space and ch1 space in Row 2?
Question 1 : I am stuck on Row 2 where it says "Skip ch3 space", I have just finished chaining 3 in Row 1, does it mean I dont crochet on the space where I did a chain 3?
Question 2 : "DC to first Ch1 space" does it mean I do a DC to the space immediately next to it?
Thanks in advance for answering my questions!
