I have a pattern that calls for 3 balls of S.CharlesCollezione PANNE yarn. I would like to substitute this yarn for another that has the same or similar texture, but it is less expensive.

Can you tell me where I can find a Yarn Substitution Chart?

I always check Ravelry for substitutions and finding out the gauge. Here's what it says about Panne.

bulky
16 stitches (over 4 inches)
chenille

So what you look for is another bulky chenille yarn that knits at appx 16 stitches over 4 inches or about 4 st to the inch.

You can filter yarns on Ravelry by various things including weight, fiber type, etc.
