Basket weave Stitch for dorm afghan
Please help. I am knitting a blanket for my great niece in her university colors and am doing this is a basketweave pattern of 6 sts knit and 6 sts purl.
My problem is that I'm using 2 colors blue and gold (her school colors). I did the border in a seed stitch (blue) and the first basketweave rows also in blue. When I changed from the blue to the gold yarn, the first row looks awful. I don't know how to change the colors so that they only look bad on the wrong side of the blanket. I would like for the basket weave on the right side to look smooth.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Happy knitting,
Betty G.
