Picking up cast on stitches?

Woo!! Got it! Just need to add the little M in felt......AND make another one in green. Hopefully #2 will be a breeze now, though. Thanks for all the help!!!

PS. It says to steam it to the right shape. How would you go about doing that??

You know, it looks perfect to me without blocking. Worked out very well indeed and looks adorable on an adorable boy.
Check the ball band for the yarn you used and see what it recommends for blocking (if necessary). You would fill the hat with tissue paper and shape it as you wish, then either steam or spray with water from a spray bottle and let dry completely. But as I said doesn't look like it needs it to me at all.

Well, I finally finished! And boy what a fiasco! After finishing the first hat, I went on to Luigi. It ended up too shallow to slouch over TWICE but I finally got it. Then the Mario hat looked more shallow so I decided to re-try it. BIG MISTAKE! I ripped it out to the decreases and then couldn't find my leftover yarn to add the depth I wanted and couldn't find a store that sold it anywhere. So...the day before Halloween I had to go buy a completely different yarn and start ALL OVER. Literally almost knitted for 24 hours straight to get it done in time for trick-or-treating. OUCH! I had to cut a few rows off the bill just so I could finish in time. I also was able to block the bill on the green one but not the red one. Oh, well...at least I know I can do it. LOL, probably without the pattern now I've done it so many times

The finished hats are delightful! I'm sorry it all was so frustrating and difficult. Next time should be much easier.

Sucess! These hats will go down in family history. I just wish those two little trick or treater had shown up at my door. Seriously well done.
