I secretly ran knitting club yesterday and I had a boy show up to learn!!!!! I was so excited that a boy came haha usually high school boys would not want to knit! After telling a colleague she told me that he usually has "issues" with school and authority....I was so surprised because he was such a pleasure and eager to learn! Maybe this can be a really positive thing for him!!

k,p and k in next st
this is a lattice leaf afghan I have no problem with the p 2 tog,O,p1 or the sl 1,k1, psso etc but when I came to the k,p and k in the next st I'm not sure what I am supposed to do, do I knit the stitch over to the r needle and put it back on the left side to p and put that one back on the left to k or do I knit, put yarn in front and purl, yarn to back and knit, the last ends up with 3 new stitches on the right hand needle, help what do I do

Hi and welcome to knitting help. This is an ongoing thread about an individual who's teaching knitting to her students at school. So you may get more response in a new thread.

But to answer your question -- leave the stitch on the left needle, bring the yarn to the front and purl into the same stitch, move the yarn to the back and knit into it again. That does give you 3 new stitches instead of one.
