I'm thinking sock Monkey Hat while he's still young enough to think that's cool. Of course I may have to make one for his mom too, once she sees it.

I made my newborn GD a pixie hat and my son just loved it so I had to make one for him too. What pattern did you use for the Sock Monkey hat?

I haven't actually made it yet, and haven't actually settled on a pattern yet. Might just pick up some Encore and run with it. I mean... it's a sock monkey... aren't they supposed to all be different anyway?

Oh man... now you got me thinking... my grandson is an Angry Birds addict too. But that's supposed to look like something specific... a sock monkey you can take a lot of license with.

Yes, there are a number of them, one I liked enough to d/l. I think the off-putting part is that with his Asperger's it really needs to look like AB and I'm not that confident. He'd be very sweet about it, but it's one of those things I really want to get right.
