Converting a cardigan pattern to circular needles
I am a beginner and found an easy cardigan pattern with instructions for straight needles. However, I only have circular needles and do not mind steeking, but I am unsure of how to convert the straight needle pattern into a circular pattern. Is there a guide on how to do this somewhere? I know about converting stitch instructions from straight to round, but this is a jump for me.

Also, while I'm here, I have had a terrible time in getting stitches onto scrap yarn for sleeves and thumb holes. Is there a trick to doing that?
