I am so excited to be here and learning how to knit. My grandmother crocheted when I was a girl but she died before I ever asked her to teach me. My name's Ashlyn and I'm here in Rocky Top, TN. Specially Oak Ridge but so near the mountains.

I'm not a great knitter by far but I'd like to become one!
I have been on many many knitting sites, but when I heard about this one I logged on made a post then unsubscribed from all the others I joined. This BY FAR is the BEST site ever!!!

Hi, tlazer. Welcome. This is the only knitting site I've ever joined. I've looked at others but when I decided to ask for help it was here (who'da thunk, ask for knitting help at knittinghelp.com :roflh

and I've not ventured elsewhere. I've gone from my first project to thinking that if I want to I can knit just about anything.

Hi everyone!!! I'm considering starting knitting or crocheting, but completely unaware of where to start and what the difference is. As of now I am a housewife waiting to go back to work. I am 28 and have a 6 year old son in Pa.

Hi, Jodena, I think you should learn to knit, but then I'm a convert from crocheting which makes me totally unbiased.

New to this site, but have been knitting and crocheting for over 50 years.
most recent projects are mittens, hat, mobius scarf and a hoodie sweater I designed and made out of a nubbly silk yarn found at a thrift shop. I usually design my own patterns, using other patterns as a guide.

Jodie, by all means learn to knit, it is a relaxing hobby, and not that difficult to master. It is never boring, as there are so many patterns and techniques to explore. With the internet, you have access to all.
