close loop
i have a pattern that says rt, pl, close loop, pl. the explanation it gives for close loop says "Insert right needle into third st on left needle and draw this st over first 2 sts on left needle; k1, yo, k1. "

so do i slip these stitches afterwards onto my right needle?

You have to work the other 2 sts, not slip them. So reach over to the 3rd st on the L needle and lift it over the other 2. Then k1 in the first st, yo and knit the 2nd stitch. I know this as the Coin Lace stitch pattern.
