I'm just starting a mitten pattern and the directions for the ribbing on the cuff say to do "k2tbl, p2" for all stitches around. My understanding is that k2tbl is a decrease, so how does this create ribbing? Wouldn't the number of stitches just keep decreasing? Thanks! Btw, there's no legend as all the rest of the stitches in the pattern are just knit.
