preparation row? (purl)
What is a preparation row? Do I start w/this or Row 1 of pattern (after casting on)?

It would help if you always give a pattern link and/or the name of the actual pattern. There's thousands of patterns and each one is different.

Does it give you instructions for a preparation row?

Sorry -- it's a Berrocco pattern using Captiva yarn in a lacy pattern called "Void" -- Thanks.

The pattern is done in pieces and seamed.

Since its a purchased pattern (not free) I can't see it. Post a couple lines of the pattern that you're having trouble with.
