Can you help me find a knitting pattern for a doll?
My Grandmother made this doll and gave it to my daughter when she was 8, she is now 37, she had passed the doll onto her daughter who has loved it to death, twice, I am hoping to find the same pattern so I can remake her for a backup so "Dolly" can retire on a shelf and the new "Dolly can take over. "Dolly has helped my Grandaughter through hospital visits and anything that is scary "Dolly" saves the day.
I have been looking everywhere but have had no luck so hopefully someone in cyberspace may have a copy.... fingures crossed.

Have you looked at Ravelry, there are so many Softies patterns!

I think I've made it to page 3, I'm enjoying looking at them all! Anyhow, the most similar I found so far are linked below. They aren't exact matches but I think they might be easily altered to look very much like your Dolly.

Ragdoll
Sally, the Eco Fairy

Hi Grumpy Granmma, I have made one similar to the Ragdoll link but she didn't like it.. not that you can tell from the pics, but her hair was originally loops.

well it doesn't seem that difficult, just knit small, long tubes for the legs, the skirt looks like it has small eyelets, knit the body with the striping, make small, long tubes for the arms, then knit a oval like shape, with a small neck, do the hair and hat then sew it all together

She didn't like the Ragdoll at the link? The basic doll looks almost identical and what isn't could be altered I'd think.

If the real problem is the hair...I don't think the loop stitch would work but you should be able to use yarn and a needle to make loopy hair, maybe? I remember seeing a pattern for something with a lion, maybe slippers, and as I recall it had "curly hair" for the main but I can't find it again to see if it did and how it was done.
