You'll find lots of great chemo cap patterns in the Chemo Cap Pattern Library group on Ravelry.

And here are some patterns for Sleeping Caps.

Thanks Sandy. This is a wonderful charity and Drew Emborsky is a wizard with a crochet hook. Here's a pattern idea that I like for a chemo cap for girls.

So I'm getting ready to move and I have a few skeins of yarn that I bought for projects failed or forgotten about. Not many, maybe 3 or so. I don't have the labels any more, but I know they are acrylic blends, but not baby soft. Does anyone know of a place I can send it? Throwing it out seems stupidly wasteful.

Oh yes, throwing it out would be a waste. There are plenty of charities that would be so grateful to receive the yarn and often, acrylic and acrylic blens are preferred. Have you looked for senior centers or school programs in your area? Where are you located?
If you're nearby, Carewear Volunteers based in Frederick, Maryland uses yarn donations to make caps, blankets, lapghans, etc for hospitals and other facilities.
