understanding pattern
Hi could someone help me understand a pattern I am trying to to a smock pattern the 1st row goes like this p2,yon k1,p2,k1, pass the yon over the last 4sts this is the part I don't get. do I just put yon and then carry on or how do I put it all over the last 4 sts.?

You put the yarn around the needle and after knitting the 4 stitches, take your left tip and lift the yon stitch over the 4 stitches and off the tip. It will be wrapped around the 4 stitches.
