Raglan sweater / jumper
Hi folk,

So, the Sutherland Shire Spinners and Weavers group, an incorporated body that I'm Vice President for has a yearly President's Challenge.

This financial year our challenge theme is simply "ON FIRE".

I've decided to knit a vee-neck raglan-sleeve sweater (jumper) in black with a flame motive done in Fair Isle with red, orange and yellow yarns. I've only just finished the basque (the 1 x 1 rib waist band) and completed six rows of the fire theme. A photo below shows this off.

Here's the photo - loving the fair isle work. Once I got my head around hooking dormant colours into stitches, thanks to a friend's guidance.

So the rest of the fair isle work is about three times what I've done then back to black.

It is looking really cool! I loved doing fair aisle. I made a couple dog sweaters doing it. Looking forward to seeing the finished sweater.

Fair isle is an absolute blast to work. I can't wait to see your finished sweater - your color choices are beautifully dramatic!

I must say, the flame motive (which I just love) isn't original, I found it on Ravelry as a free download. It was there as a design on some black sox (of all things). I saw it and thought "Hmmm, why not?"

Wow, I really like the pattern! I like the way the yellows and oranges work against the black background, too. Nice work!
