....all in NEXT sts. What sts?
Pattern:
2nd row: P6. *(P1. yo. P1) all in next st. P9. Rep from * to last 7 sts.
(P1. yo. P1) all in next st. P6. 75 sts.

All in next st. is confusing me. Do I P6 then do one P1 yo P1. Or do I P6 then do all of the next P9s with the P1 yo P1?

It would seem to me if I was to P1 yo P1 all the way through the P9s that I would end up with more than 75 stitches, since that is the pTtern to be repeated until the last 7 sts. (I have 63 sts to start with.)

What are you making? Can you link to the pattern? What is the stitch pattern called?
Per the instructions you will do a p1, yo, p1 in the next st, then p9, then do it all over again until you have 7 sts left. After each inc you'll have 9 purls. My brain is balking at the math but I think it works out to 75 sts at the end of the row.

Hi and welcome to Knitting Help!
The instructions want you to P6 and then p1, yo, p1 only in the next stitch, then purl 9sts as usual. I couldn't find a good video for this but here's one for k1,p1,p1 all in the next stitch that is similae.

You'll be increasing 2sts each time you do this. If you have 63sts now, you'll repeat the section in the asterisks 5 times and then do the double increase once more for (12sts increased for a total of 75sts).

Doh!
Okay I watched the video you linked and realized my mistake. I completed the row and came up with the correct number of stitches. Thank you so much!! I puzzled over this all day yesterday!

The pattern is Rainbow Stripe Blanket by Bernat. http://www.yarnspirations.com/patter...stripe-blanket

Thank you!
