feeling like a newbie knitting
I've been knitting for about 10 years (although I did take a few years off due to rotator cuff problems), but I feel like a newbie asking this question.

Last night I knitted my daughter one of two boot cuffs. When I finished, I noticed that my cast on side of the cuff was narrower than the cast off side of the cuff. I do tend to cast on tight, but I usually loosen up on the very first row. Blocking helped even it out, but I wondered if this is normal/common, a problem with tension, or something else. Any suggestions would be helpful.
