Help with purling
Hello! I have just retaught myself how to knit using this site. For practice, I knitted a long strip. I think this is called garter stitch? Next, I tried to do the same thing, only purl. However, when I try to purl a strip, it comes out looking like my knitting, only stretchier. Is this right? Thanks!

If you purl every single row, then yes ... I think it would come out looking like garter stitch. I suspect that it's stretches more than your knitted piece because you're knit tension and purl tension are different from each other.
